Basic Fundamentals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Basics Fundamentals Blog Hop, if you arrived here from Maz Wood's blog you are in the right place if you arrived here by chance thanks for stopping by. To continue the hop click on the link at the end of this post to go to the next blog.

Close To My Heart had a fantastic special on last month for the four different Fundamental Collections and I splurged and bought all four. I love the Basic Fundamental paper suite, the colours and the patterns of the different papers are so lovely. These papers can be used with lots of different colour cardstock, I envision using these papers and compliments often.

This layout came together quite quickly I used pattern 29 from the Make It From Your Heart Ideas Book Vol 3 (9043) as inspiration for this layout. I also used the grey ribbon with the gold strip running through the middle and the stars and little hearts that were in the compliments pack.

One of my favourite things to do is read and nothing is better than settling down with a cuppa and my latest book. So this project is just perfect. The cup and saucer can be found on the Flower Market Cricut cartridge Z3285, adding a short piece of ribbon, a little cardstock heart and brad and you have a lovely bookmark.

This final bit of whimsy was a joy to create, I used a small canvas (6" x 6") and adhered a torn piece of paper ( I love this sheet with the words on it ) then added a few butterflies using different papers, a stamped sentiment, flowers from the compliments pack and some bling. To give the butterflies a bit of dimension I rolled the edges of the wings using the end of a small paint brush.  I inked the edges of the torn paper with Slate ink and because I didn't like the stark white edges of the flowers I also inked these with Pixie and Slate ink.

December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the December Stamp of the Month blog hop, if you arrived here from Vandra's  Virtual CTMH Craftroom, I am so happy to have you visit. If you arrived here by chance just click on the link at the end of this post to continue the hop.

The December Stamp of the Month is A Little Bit of Pun S1712 is so cute and will be very useful for card making, scrapbooking or any paper crafts.

I needed to put my thinking cap on to come up with different ideas using this stamp set. I am quite happy with what I have created.  These frames are so easy to make and the puns from this stamp set really adds a fun touch. The frames are cut from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge, you can find the image on page 41, I cut two of each of the frames, first in White cardstock, and then the pattern papers. I can't wait to use these on a layout. It is quite easy to stamp the image and the pun separately and use them as I have.

This second project also starts off with cut images from the Artiste Cricut cartridge, I used the word bubble images found on page 65. These will add some fun embellishments to my page layouts.

I cut a number of the thought bubbles and have used some different ones on this layout. I did consider throwing out these photos but decided they needed to be added to a "special" layout and love how it has turned out.

Silver and Gold Blog Hop

Welcome to the Australasian CTMH Silver and Gold Blog Hop, if you arrived here from Megan's blog I am very happy to see you. If you arrived here by chance you can continue the hop by clicking on the link at the end of this post to see other great ideas.

The Silver and Gold Scrapbooking kit G1138 has some Christmas theme papers and embellishments but it can also be used for other projects as well, because there are black and white papers and compliments as well. The silver and gold glitter compliments are so pretty.
I decided to make a box, a bag and a gift card holder ready for Christmas.  All of the projects were easy to make.

This first box only takes a relatively small piece of cardstock, (4" x 11") you can view a video here for instructions on how to make this box. The finished size is 4"x 2"x1" and the pattern paper on the top is 3.75" x 1.75". This may appear a very small box but it will easily hold chocolates or a special gift.  I coloured the holly berries with a Shin Han Marker and added a white ribbon.

This second project is gift bag and you can find instructions here to make the bag, you will need a piece of paper 9" x 12" and a few strips of cardstock. I have added a diecut deer and a little metal heart from my stash to decorate the bag. The deer was stamped with Versamark Ink Z891 and heat embossed with White embossing powder Z2068

My last project is a quick and easy to make gift card holder. You can find a video here with instructions. I have added the nativity stamp from the First Noel C1688 stamp set to continue the Christmas theme but of course you can add any stamp you choose, to embellish the belly band.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope my projects inspire you to create your own. To continue the hop click here to see what amazing creations Maz has to share. Please take a moment and leave a comment, it is always appreciated.

November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our blog hop, if you arrived here from  Maz's amazing blog, you are in the right place if you arrived here by chance I hope you see something you like.

The November Stamp of the Month "Through the Year" is such a versatile stamp set you can use is for card making, scrapbooking or other paper projects. I am so keen to see what everyone has created using this stamp set. I love the font used for the months, and all the different icons are so cute. This stamp set is only $7.50 with a purchase of $75.00 or $27.00 if you buy just the stamp set.

It was so much fun creating this card, the background frame was cut with the Artbooking Cricut cartridge at 4 inches and the card base is 4 and a quarter inches. The different icons were stamped and then coloured with the Shin Han Markers. I find fussy cutting quite relaxing so I enjoy doing it. The CTMH Non Stick Micro Tip Scissors really do make it quite easy. A little bling always adds a special touch.

I am slowly catching up on family album and this layout is from last year, a day outing to Elizabeth Quay. The kids had a really fun time and it was a lovely day, the weather was perfect. I used the December and two of the Christmas trees from the stamp set.

Beary Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to our blog hop, if you arrived here from  Nell Ward's blog you are in the right place if you arrived here by chance I hope you see something you like.

The Beary Christmas papers and compliments are so lovely. I do love the traditional Christmas colours of red and green but the added bonus of the soft blue is gorgeous.

This card was so easy to create, these papers just look beautiful together. The JOY is cut using the Artbooking Cricut cartridge and I used the 3D Foam Tape to raise it slightly off the card. A few of the Red Gems Z3090, some red ribbon and a little Christmas tree from my stash finishes off the card.

This layout uses different papers, the Christmas trees and bears are so cute. I have a cut a Merry Christmas sentiment from the Flower Market Cricut cartridge and have also fussy cut one of the bear and wreath for added decoration. I haven't bought the new Beary Christmas stamp and thin cuts yet but the the bear stamp from the previous Seasonal Expressions catalogue and a Santa hat from last year's stamp made a good substitute.

I wanted to show that some of these papers can be used for projects other than Christmas, the blue paper is such a pretty soft colour I used it to make a bookmark. This paper looks so good with Champagne cardstock

There is still more to see, so click here to go to Kara's blog she will have something wonderful to share. Please take a moment and leave a comment they are always appreciated.

October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our blog hop, if you arrived here from  Shaunna's blog  you are in the right place if you arrived here by chance I hope you see something you like.

The October Stamp of the Month is Christmas Tunes S 1710, these include some of my favourite Christmas carols. This stamp set is $27.00 or $7.50 with a purchase of $75.00.

My sister, two of her grandchildren and I visited Tasmania in the July school holidays. While there we went to  Ben Lamond National Park so the kids could see snow. Unfortunately there was just a smattering of snow but it was enough for the kids to have a go at tobogganing. I have use papers from the Fundamental Paper Pack and used Sapphire cardstock as an accent. I stamped the "Baby it's Cold Outside image in Slate ink and added a little colour with the ShinHan Markers.

I have created two Christmas cards with two other images from this set, one I have gold embossed and added some gold ribbon.

This second card is called a Joy Fold card it opens fro both the right and left sides. The button holds the right side closed when it is tucked in behind the button. The image was stampede with Black ink and coloured with the Shin Han markers.

Falling For You and Cats and Bats Blog Hop

Welcome to our blog hop, if you arrived here from Kara's blog you are in the right place if you arrived here by chance I hope you see something you like.

We are showcasing two Paper Collections in this hop,Falling for You and Cats and Bats, these are both lovely collections

Here is the Falling for You workshop your way kit G1135.
For my first project I used Pattern 23 from the new Make It From Your Heart Vol.3 How To book 9043

I used two different pattern papers, a zip strip and a narrow piece of Pixie cardstock. Also a few gems, the Happy Birthday Thin Cut  and various stamps. For the title I used one of the Pocket cards. The great thing about using sketches is you can alter the sketch to suit your photos.

This project uses the papers from the Bats and Cats collection G1136. I have used the same sketch as in the first layout but I have rotated the design.

I wanted to show off the beautiful National Stamping month stamp set as well so I have created a card using the Bats and Cats paper and this stamp. The stamp set is called From the Heart CC1228, don't you just love it.

Thank you for stopping by I hope you see something you like, to continue the hop click here to go to Shaunna's Passionate About Pages blog and see what great ideas she has to share. I hope you take a moment and leave a comment.
